Hello, I am Worlaix, an amateur artist/writer and the developer of Elvensang, a story-driven visual novel set in a custom, medieval-inspired fantasy world. About Elvensang... Take on the mantle of Doriel - a young elf living alone with his mother near the human settlement of Briarstead. Though you have lived here your entire life, your human neighbors look at you with prejudice fueled by a history of war and hatred between man and elf. *** Become a part of an intricate, medieval-inspired fantasy world filled with lore, ancient feuds, dark secrets and political schemes. It is a chaotic and everchanging place where peace and prosperity is often thwarted by selfish pursuits. *** Meet complex characters who each have their own desires and motivations; no one is entirely good or evil and to be a "hero" or a "villain" is often a matter of perspective. *** Explore a multilayered story filled with mysteries and intrigue as it gradually engulfs the protagonist. Though he starts as an inexperienced, passive observer, with your guidance he will mature into a competent key figure, influencing the world around him while uncovering the legacy of his people. *** Experience tender young romance with the protagonist's childhood friend; once an elven urchin begging on the streets, Sunny has grown into a hopeful, timid young girl whose fate has become intertwined with yours. *** If you are so inclined, you may also experience romance with various side love interests. Some of them may only want carnal pleasure, some may grow to genuinely care for you... and some may only want to use you for their own ends. *** And finally, make choices that will ultimately decide what kind of a person the protagonist becomes - and whether he ends up changing the world for the better... or far worse. *** Is Elvensang the right game for you? To find the answer to that question, here's a few things you should keep in mind: Though it contains illustrations, Elvensang is very dialogue heavy. I am working on adding more and more artwork to improve the image:text ratio to add variety to the typical "VN model" (background+sprites dialogues), but there is still a lot of reading to do. I started learning how to draw for the purpose of making my own visual novel, and since I am still in the process of learning, the art can be rough around the edges at times (especially in the earlier episodes). But if you can survive the rougher bits of art, I think you will see just how much I improve with the release of every episode. Elvensang is not a dating sim - vanilla romance with the main romantic interest, Sunny, is mandatory (canon). Rather than develop half a dozen shallow love interests who exist in a vacuum detached from the main story, I prefer to explore one romance in great depth, closely connected to the main story and then allow the players to adjust the nuances of their relationship with Sunny. If none of these scare you off, then I think Elvensang may just be the right game for you! Why become a patron? Since the release of the prologue, most of my time has been spread between university and part-time jobs, leaving me to work on Elvensang in my free time as a hobby.
