Description
Eileen Muza is a visual artist and the sole year-round resident of Cisco, Utah. They acquired their land in 2015 and began the arduous process of refurbishing and rebuilding various structures that had been long-abandoned on the property. Today Cisco has many visitors throughout the year from resident artists, runner ups, contributing artists and passerbyers. Eileen takes great care to preserve the heritage and unique character of the original town. The vast majority of their restoration and reimagining of Cisco has been done with materials that have been left behind in the town. This sentiment is often shared with the artists that come through and is apparent in the artwork that is found here. Over the last few years, they have created a distinctive and inclusive environment for artists to experience complete creative freedom under the big desert sky with the Home of The Brave artist residency which was established in 2019. While this place offers a refuge for artists across the country, it is Eileen’s home. The responsibility of day to day operations can be a bit tiring. To combat these feelings, they recently acquired new land on the other side of the mountain. They are working to turn an old homestead/pig shed into a tiny home for less than $500 which is being documented on video. All of the artists and guests who have come through have made a mark and helped shape Cisco to what it is today. While we know that these conditions are harsh and inaccessible for many we decided to set this up for folks who would like a more intimate experience of what goes on. All benefits are the same for each tier and were created to fit a wide-range of budgets. Your Patreon membership will directly benefit and support the artist-in-residence program including, runner ups and contributing artists. Your support will also extend to gallery events, the maintenance and care of Cisco as well as all the on-going projects of Eileen that make this place so special.
