I am "Bald Games" or just Mr. Bald, the developer of "Back to Freedom", an adult visual novel with branching paths where your choices truly matter. In the story, you play as a former elite soldier who was imprisoned for ten years after disobeying an order, resulting in the deaths of several allies. When you are finally set free, you just want a chance to start over and find peace again. But the ghosts of the past won't let you go so easily. The game is made in Twine/HTML, a versatile, lightweight engine that runs natively on PCs and mobile devices. Unlike most visual novels, here you will find choices that impact the story and shape the characters, a corruption system, a money and item system, a stat system that builds based on your choices, various interactive minigames that will test your skills and reasoning, a comprehensive achievement system that rewards player effort, a replay gallery, and most importantly: a vast amount of content to uncover. All of this comes together into an easy, intuitive experience. You don’t need to figure out where to go next; Just follow the story and make the choices you deem most appropriate. There is no right or wrong in "Back to Freedom". Want to give in to corruption and become the new crime boss? Feel free. Want to be the good guy who helps everyone and is guided by his moral compass? You can do that, too. Each path leads you to different characters, events, dialogue, and a whole range of unique content. Still not enough? Okay. After finishing the story, you still have access to a sandbox mode, an experience completely different from the story mode, where you can replay story events, meet new characters, and access even more content. Combined, the experiences offer dozens of hours of gameplay, virtually unmatched replayability, and content unlike any other game.
